Joyful Rise is the newest project from innovator and AI leader Pardhu Namburi. The nonprofit, which recently gained 501(c)(3) status, stands out for its use of emerging technology to promote emotional wellness, positive values, and human-centered growth.

When meeting Pardhu, one of the first things people notice is his warmth and generosity. He brings a perspective that feels distinct from the pace and pressure often associated with the technology sector. Through his work in artificial intelligence, his role on San Francisco University’s AI Advisory Board, and his time as a Hindu monk, Pardhu has developed a mission rooted in both innovation and moral reflection.

Joyful Rise combines Pardhu’s personal experiences, technological insight, and commitment to positive universal virtues into a nonprofit focused on hardware and software designed to support healthy emotions and human values. The organization’s work includes personal wellness coaching, algorithmic positive content matching, heart rate monitoring, and an app designed to promote positive universal human virtues.

A key part of Joyful Rise’s mission is its focus on values that can be recognized across religions, cultures, and belief systems. Pardhu emphasizes this as a core part of the organization’s vision. Some of the fourteen values highlighted by Joyful Rise include humility, selflessness, honesty, respect for all, empathetic justice, and courage to do good. The full list of values can be found on the Joyful Rise website.

Joyful Rise currently has a team of ten members, many with ties to Northwestern University, where Pardhu is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy. The team includes professionals with experience in nonprofit work, law, public policy, positive psychology, and community-centered initiatives.

Advisor Dhaarmika Coelho, founder of Kindful Connections, brings experience in positive psychology therapies. Legal advisor Brad West has experience with Profit for Good, an initiative focused on directing funding toward nonprofits. Mollie Foust, a Northwestern professor specializing in public policy and the nonprofit sector, brings academic knowledge and policy experience to the team.

These are only a few of the people contributing to Joyful Rise’s development. The full team is listed on the organization’s website.

Looking ahead, Joyful Rise has set an ambitious goal of reaching 500,000 subscribers by next year. Pardhu has already built a significant LinkedIn following through his positive workplace content, where people can learn more about his work and ask questions about the nonprofit.
